My name is Daisy. I am a 3-year old, female, tri-colored Chihuahua. I weigh about 8 pounds. I came to DFW Pup Patrol from a family who couldn’t keep me because they had a small child who made me nervous. Small kids do make me nervous because they are unpredictable. Although I would do well in a home with small children if they were taught how to interact with me, I prefer to be in a home with older kids or adults only.

Playing is a new activity for me. I was so nervous in my original home that I never learned how to relax and play. It took a while, but I have figured it out now!! I LOVE to play with my foster-sister, Chloe! We run laps around the back yard and wrestle. My foster mom sometimes calls me Crazy Daisy because I am so silly when playing.

I have been diagnosed with sinus bradycardia/arrhythmia. This simply means I have a slow heart beat and can’t play for long periods of time without becoming tired.  It doesn’t cause me any trouble but I will need to be carefully evaluated before any procedures involving anesthesia. Also, as I get older, I will need to be monitored to identify any potential problems early. I am allergic to Purina dog products so I will need to be fed a high-quality dog food. Please don’t let my heart condition cause you to overlook me. You would never know I have this condition as I am a very playful pup!

I am potty trained, and crate trained. I am learning how to use a doggie door. Since I originally lived in an apartment, I am just now getting comfortable with having a back yard of my own.

I am a docile girl who gets along well with other dogs and cats. I prefer a low-energy home with dogs my size or smaller.  My foster mom says I adapt quickly and would make a great lap dog and companion pet because I am happiest just being with my person. I am still working on my leash training. Since I am a shy girl, I get nervous easily so I need a family that will be patient and loving with me. Sometimes I need reassurance that everything is fine. I don’t really like riding in the car but will do so quietly if I have to. I am such a sweet girl with so much love to give. I can’t wait to find a home to call my own.

Don’t I sound like a super sweet girl? I am a bundle of joy and love in a small package!  I will be an awesome addition to a low-energy family or individual. My foster mom keeps telling me that there is a perfect family out there for me. Could it be with you?
