Meet young Charlie Moon, rescued from Abilene, TX.  Charlie Moon came from a home with too many pets and found his way to the Dallas area on a new adventure.

Charlie Moon (Charlie for short) is about 6 months of age and we believe is a Flat-Coated Retriever pup.  He is a big puppy currently weighing in between 52 and 55 lbs.  We expect he may get as big as 70 to 80 lbs full grown.  Since he is a Flat-Coated Retriever his longer hair is next to non-shedding and he also has webbed feet.  His foster mom has brushed and brushed and there is next to no fur to clean out of the brush when finished!

Charlie is a most happy young dog, loves playing with his foster dog siblings and never, never bites back or gets aggressive even with the smallest dog.  He is not food or toy aggressive either.  Charlie is affectionate with his people and prefers to be in the same room with his people.  He is attentive to his surroundings and will let you know with a nice loud and alerting 'woof' when something is approaching, but he then settles down quickly.

Charlie is not crated and uses a dog door to go potty outside.  He is housebroken, and with the exception of an occasional toilet paper role and some counter surfing, he is the perfect dog.  Charlie sleeps nicely in the bedroom with us each night.

Charlie sounds like the perfect dog...ok...so what's the real story?  Actually, that IS the real story!  His foster mom keeps a big basket of toys that he digs through and plays with (really likes squeaky toys) and the only complaint the foster mom has is he likes to play in the drinking water bowl (lots of towels being washed).

Charlie already nows how to sit and walks well on a leash; we are working on other basic obedience with him.

All of our adoptable pups have an adoption fee of $200, regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.
